Drum Scans
Powered by DPL (Digital Photo Lab®) software, our HiResolve
scanner offers a true optical resolution of up to 8000 samples per
inch from transparencies, negatives and reflective originals from
any size up to 8.5"X11". With unsurpassed dynamic range
and full operator control over the rendering of film grain, this
powerful drum scanning technology creates the perfect source files
for large format digital printing.
Imacon CCD
Scans
The high-end Imacon 848 CCD scanner is quick and efficient and can
rival the quality of drum scans at a lower per scan cost. The 848
is able to scan standard film frame sizes from 35mm to 4x5, capturing
98% of the image area from transparencies and negatives. (Full frame
scans including rebate area must be scanned on a drum.) The FlexColor
software that drives this scanner has some of the most accurate
colour tables for negatives in the industry, making it a natural
choice when scanning negative films.
Flatbed Scans
Our Epson Perfection scans reflective material up to 8.5"X11"
with sample rates up to 4800 dpi. Reflective originals larger than
8.5"x11" should have a 4x5 copy negative or transparency
made and go to the drum or Imacon for scanning.
Match Prints
Request a match print when a reliable colour reference is required
for digital files that are intended for press applications (newsletters
and magazines etc.). Match Prints are limited specifically to those
colours that can be achieved by an offset press.
Frontier Scans
High quality low cost automated scans from whole roll film or cut
strips and frames, Frontier scans are available in two sizes; 4
base: approximately 6 MB uncompressed, and 16 base: approximately
26 MB uncompressed. These scans are available in 8 bit RGB only
and may be provided in TIFF or JPEG format.
