About FTP and the Web File Manager
What is a Web File Manager?
Using the 'Connect' button above and logging in starts the Web
File Manager in your browser window and allows you to upload files
for printing, create sub folders to organize your files and download
scans without the use of an FTP application.
|
What is FTP?
FTP stands for 'File Transfer Protocol' and it is a method for
moving files from one computer to another over the web. If you
anticipate a large volume of files and/or large file sizes, we
recommend using a dedicated FTP application such as Fetch
for Macintosh or WS_FTP
for Windows. FTP applications transfer files more quickly than
a web browser.
|
Why Do I Need an FTP Account?
Security on the web is very important. Requiring all of our users
to have accounts safeguards your files while they reside on our
servers.
